Is it necessary to visit a branch in person to register for your personal WeChat Banking service?
  • If you already had our bank’s debit card, you could register for our personal WeChat Banking service by following our official WeChat public account “华侨银行微银行” through the WeChat app. You can complete the self-registration with your valid personal identification information, debit card details, and the default mobile phone number registered with our bank.

  • If you do not yet have our bank’s debit card, please visit any one of our personal banking service branches with your valid identity certificate and mobile phone number registered by yourself real name and ID to apply for a debit card first. Then, follow our official WeChat public account “华侨银行微银行” through the WeChat app to self-register for our personal WeChat Banking service.

How do I register for your personal WeChat Banking service?

To register for our personal WeChat Banking service, please first follow our official WeChat public account “华侨银行微银行” through the WeChat app. Then enter your valid personal identification information and debit card details. Next carefully read and confirm your acceptance of “电子银行服务条款与条件”,“个人信息处理告知及授权书”,“敏感个人信息处理单独同意授权书” and “向境外提供个人信息单独同意授权书”. Finally enter your debit card password and the SMS OTP, and then click “提交”. Once all the information is successfully verified, your personal WeChat Banking service will be registered successfully.

I just tried to register for your WeChat Banking service, but I entered SMS OTP incorrectly three times and now I can’t register. What should I do?

If you have entered SMS OTP incorrectly three times, you can attempt to register again after midnight the next day.

I have entered debit card password incorrectly three times for WeChat Banking registration. Will it affect the use of my debit card?

No, it will not affect your normal debit card transactions such as payment at merchants and cash withdrawals. However, to protect the security of your funds, you will not be able to register for WeChat Banking again on the same day. Please try again the next day. If you have forgotten your debit card password, please bring your valid identification and debit card to any one of our personal banking service branches to reset the password.

I have changed my mobile phone number and can no longer receive the SMS OTP for WeChat Banking transactions. What should I do?

Please visit any one of our personal banking service branches to update your default mobile phone number with your valid identification and your new mobile phone number registered by yourself real name and ID.

I have changed my WeChat ID and can no longer log in to WeChat Banking. What should I do?

In this case, you need to self-register again to log in and use WeChat Banking service.

How long is the validity period of the SMS OTP for your WeChat Banking, and why does it expire so quickly?

The SMS OTP is valid for 120 seconds. If it is out of validity, the system will notify you that the operation has failed and that SMS OTP has expired. You will need to request a new one.

I want to suspend my personal Internet Banking. Can I do this through self-service?

If you have already registered for our WeChat Banking, you can log in to WeChat Banking, tap “我的” at the bottom of the screen to enter the “个人中心”, then at the bottom of the page in the assistant bar, click the “暂停网银” icon, and then tap “暂停” and confirm.

Please note that if you want to restart your personal Internet Banking you will need to visit any one of our personal banking service branches in person to restart.

Why did the system automatically log me out and ask me to log in again when I was using WeChat Banking today?

To ensure the security of customer transactions, if you log in to WeChat Banking but do not perform any operation for more than 5 minutes, the system will automatically log you out. In addition, if you use WeChat Banking continuously for more than 2 hours, you will also be forcibly logged out and need to log in again to continue using the service.

Remark: FAQs have both Chinese and English versions. In case of any discrepancy between the Chinese version and the English version, the Chinese version shall prevail.
